How We Review Supplements (Our 100-Point Evaluation Framework)
Supplement Review Report is an independent consumer education website. This page explains exactly how we review supplements, how our scoring system works, and what a supplement score does and does not mean.
Important: We do not provide medical advice. We do not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Our scoring system evaluates publicly available product information and marketing practices — not medical outcomes.
For official consumer guidance on dietary supplements, see the FDA’s resource here: FDA: Information for Consumers on Using Dietary Supplements .
Our Independent Review Philosophy
Many supplement review websites focus primarily on promotion. Our goal is different. We evaluate transparency, marketing clarity, and consumer accountability signals that buyers can verify before purchasing.
We believe consumers deserve clear labeling, responsible marketing language, and straightforward refund policies.
Our 100-Point Supplement Scoring System
Every supplement is scored out of 100 points using the same structured framework. A higher score generally means the product provides clearer information, uses more responsible marketing language, and offers stronger consumer accountability indicators.
A lower score usually means product information is unclear, marketing is overly aggressive, or refund and company details are difficult to verify.
What Our Supplement Scores Mean
- 90–100: Strong transparency and accountability signals.
- 75–89: Generally clear information with minor concerns.
- 60–74: Noticeable clarity or marketing issues.
- Below 60: Significant transparency or accountability concerns.
What We Evaluate in Every Review
- Label clarity: ingredient list, dosage details, supplement facts visibility.
- Sales page claims: exaggerated language, miracle claims, urgency pressure.
- Company identity: contact methods, physical address, support accessibility.
- Refund policy: clear terms, billing transparency, and cancellation ease.
- Advertising patterns: fake news layouts or misleading “breakthrough” positioning.
What We Do Not Claim
- We do not claim that any supplement treats or cures a disease.
- We do not claim that a high score equals medical effectiveness.
- We do not claim that a low score means a product is illegal.
- We do not claim results will be the same for every individual.
Why We Publish Low Scores
Transparency matters. We include lower-scoring reviews because consumers often learn the most from seeing clear examples of labeling gaps, aggressive marketing language, or unclear refund practices.
